Spring Zone is this weekend in Provost and I will be attending along with a few other Kinettes. We are going to have a great road trip and learn some great things about what has been happening in our zone. This is one of my favorite meetings to attend and I hope more of you decide to go in the future. I will post some pictures when we get back. Have a great meeting Ladies!

Here is some reminders and important information about Thursdays meeting.

Reminder it is potluck, to wear red if possible and it is Bring a Buddy Night (a way to help celebrate Founders Day – Feb. 20th)

Tools for School – bring back pack/book bag

Schizophrenia Society – Iris Campaign.  Looking for Chair & Committee for this service project.

Schanks - Remember to bring small auction items and/or beer ot the meeting. (And volunteer sheets will be available to sign up) Event: Sat. Feb. 20th – Founders Day.  Also, Please bring any unsold tickets and/or money for tickets sold.

If you have any Shop and Support orders, please bring to the meeting. (Cheque made payable to The Kinette Club of Edmonton)  Contact Lucia if you need more info.

Mark your Calendar – New Members School / Member Education: March 9th at the Clubhouse.

Welcome back everyone. I trust you have had a wonderful holiday season. Just a few announcements and I hope to see you at the meeting.

Meeting date : Thursday Jan 7th at 6:30pm (Joint with the Kinsmen) at the clubhouse

At Thursday’s meeting – the Kinettes are participating in a small project “Keeping Our Community Warm” by donating new or gently used hats, mittens, scarves and/or socks to our inner city homeless. I will be gathering as much as I can and then we’ll be distributing these in the next week or so. If you would like to participate – please remember to bring your item/items to Thursday’s meeting. Also – we have joined forces with the United Way in participating with their Tools for School Program.  From January to the end of June we are gathering school supplies to be given to inner city schools for the September 2010 school year. Our goal is to donate 50 backpaks complete with various school supplies.  If you would like to participate, please bring a backpak and/or school items (ie pencils, loose leaf, etc.) to Thursday’s meeting. Thanks for your support.

If you are on Facebook you should make sure to join the District 4 kin facebook page. You will always know what’s going on in the district and it’s a great way to keep up to date on kin. Rick was kind enough to set up a mass email list for us so now if you want to get ahold of our members you just send an email to members@edmontonkinettes.ca. We don’t have to worry about spam because all emails from non-members get sent to me first for pre-approval. Now if this works the way I had hoped, EVERYONE should be getting this update because I subscribed it to our Blog.

If you get this update twice don’t worry because I am magic and it will be fixed before the next blog post!

We are moving forward and I am excited about all the new things we have set up.

I just wanted to thank all you ladies who have subscribed to the blog! IT is so exciting.
